Class Policies
Absences
When your child is absent from school, you must send a note explaining the absence on the day he or she returns to school. If we do not receive an excuse note, your child's absence will be unexcused. In the case of extensive unexcused absences, you will be conactect by a school counselor.
Behavior Expectations
In 4th grade, we have high expectations regarding student behavior. You will see a behavior sheet for each Nine Weeks in your child's organizer. This behavior sheet will provide you with important behavior information. Please be sure to discuss your child's behavior each night and sign the sheet every Friday!
Birthdays
You're welcome to send a birthday treat for our class to enjoy during lunch! If you choose to send a cake, please make sure it's already cut into individual pieces. Please do not send birthday party invitations to school unless there is an invitation for each child in class.
Classroom Visits
You are always invited into our 4th Grade classroom! Just let me know when you'd like to visit so we can agree on an appropriate time. When visiting our classroom or any other part of our school, please sign in at the front desk and get a "Visitor's Pass."
Lunch Money
Please use the front sheet protector when you send in your child's lunch money. Place the money or check in an envelope with my name, your child's name, and your child's student number written on the front. If your child has a zero balance on his or her account, you'll receive a letter letting you know.
Specials
Your child will attend a special every day. Please help your child remember to dress appropriately for P.E., which requires sneakers and clothes that are easy to move in. You will find your child's specials schedule here.
Transportation
For your child's safety, please send a note to school if there is a change in your child's transportation (for example: if your child needs to be a car rider instead of a bus rider). The school will not let your child change transportation without a note. Please do your best to limit transportation changes, as it becomes confusing for your child and the school!
